Serving military and other professional families, the facility became the premier five-star rated child care center in the Southern Pines area.
In 2018 Sharyn decided it was time for her next journey. She sold the facility to the director, Gabriela Olufs. Cyber Ed became Southern Pines Academy.
Keeping with the same values and tradition, Gaby runs the facility as a family-run business with the help of her husband, Ryan Olufs.
Southern Pines Academy continues to be a landmark for the community and the premier child care facility in the Southern Pines area.

Lead Teacher
Southern Pines Academy is a 5-star rated child developmental center providing full-time care for children ages 1-5. We focus on enhancing social-emotional skills and seeing conflict as learning opportunities to teach missing skills.
We are searching for one lead teacher for our pre-k classroom, working with children 3-5 years old.
Duties
- Creating weekly developmentally appropriate lesson plans.
- Following and implementing lesson plans.
- Creating nature-based activities Participating in Farm to ECE garden and other agricultural activities. Properly interacting with children.
- Supervising children.
- Willing to learn current childcare techniques as appropriate.
- Maintaining classroom appearance and organization.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree North Carolina state qualification letter and background check.
